This is where you will find our individual projects on the different angles that we take when delving into road safety in Houston, Texas! You'll find angles all the way from the cycling lane to the sidewalk.
Derailed
When handling the cycling aspect of road safety, we'll explore the ins and outs of the cycling routes around the city. We will also be hearing testimonials from local cyclists on their experiences and seeing if there are any trends that show a deeper picture.
Off the beaten path
For one part of the project we will be looking into pedestrian related data including accidents, incidents. and safety rules and regulations involving them. Filing FOIA request from the TxDOT public records and department of transportation.
On the road again
The overall topic we will work on is road safety. Individually, I will explore with data the topic of road rage in Harris County. The data will come from the Texas Department of Transportation. My topic relates to road safety because of one reason. That reason being that road rage threatens the safety of individuals on the road.
